Their Story

Laura and Mark met back in 2018 at the gym. After seeing each other several times and a few friendly greetings, they went on their first date. It didn’t take long for both Mark and Laura to realize that they were perfect for each other and as the saying goes, “the rest is history!”

Laura and I began working together about two years ago. I was so excited when she and Mark got engaged and started planning their wedding! Becoming Laura and Mark’s wedding coordinator happened by accident due to unfortunate circumstances. I offered to step in to help and was so excited when she agreed. We got right down to business! In the process of this, I decided I wanted to explore creating a wedding coordination business and now here I am!

The Wedding

My day began with picking up the décor and off I went to set up at the ceremony. The groom and his groomsmen arrived and shortly after, the bride and her bridesmaids arrived. The ceremony was short and sweet, with beautiful music and a priest with a sense of humor. The weather was a little cool but nothing a bit of adrenaline couldn’t fix for outdoor family photos. Once family photos had wrapped up, the wedding party headed off in the limo to take photos at The Leaf. It was time for me to set up the reception at the Qualico Family Centre at Assiniboine Park.

With some help from a few of Laura and Mark’s loved ones, we got down to business setting up for the reception. Time was very limited, so I was very grateful for the extra hands! Laura’s chosen décor combined with the beautiful venue was simply perfect.

A most delicious meal, a signature cocktail (The Oscar, named after the couple’s dog), a fantastic DJ, and a special song sung by one of Laura’s best friends are just a few aspects of the evening that made this reception so special.
